Zimmerman drives in two runs in the win

(Burlington, IA) - The Burlington Bees (27-36) took down the Wisconsin Timber Ratters (26-36) 4-0 in game one of a doubleheader at Community Field.

 The Bees opened the scoring in the second inning. Jordan Zimmerman started the frame with a walk and then moved to second on a single by Sam McDonnell after a one-out single from Roberto Baldoquin loaded the bases, John Schuknecht walked in Zimmerman, giving the Bees a 1-0 lead. Jeyson Sanchez then hit into a fielder's choice, scoring McDonnell, extending the Bees' lead to 2-0.

Jack Kruger started the third inning with a lead-off triple to right-center. After an error put runners at the corners, Jordan Zimmerman knocked in two runs with a single, pushing the Bees' lead to 4-0.

The Bees pitching took care of the rest, shutting out the Timber Rattlers, allowing just three hits. Bees' starter Andrew Vinson (4-6) earned the win while Braden Webb (2-5) was charged with the loss. 

NOTES: Keith Grieshaber's 11-game hitting streak came to an end while Sam McDonnell extended his streak to 11 games.
