(Burlington, IA) - Bees' Assistant General Manager Kim Parker has been named one of the presenters at the 2016 Minor League Baseball Promotional Seminar in Birmingham, Alabama.
The Promotional Seminar features sports executives from across the country exchanging various ideas. Attendees at the annual event will have a chance to network and meet with exhibitors and job seekers and will give back to the local community in a MiLB Charities Community Service project.
Parker, a 2015 Rawlings Female Executive of the Year finalist, will be one of 11 presenters at this year's event, covering topics specific to the sporting industry such as sales, marketing, promotions, diversity and more.
"I was shocked, I honestly thought it was an open invitation for anyone to present, then I realized it was actually addressed to me so I read on" says Parker. "Mark Labban mentioned that he and his fellow MiLB staff members and the Promotional Seminar Steering Committee thought it would be an excellent choice."
Parker will present on the Friends of Community Field, a non-profit that she heads. Parker will go over the four annual events ran by the Friends of Community Field and how the money raised benefits Community Field.
"I am terrified of public speaking but this is too big of an honor to turn down," said Parker, " I am very excited for this opportunity"
The 2016 Minor League Promotional Seminar will run from September 27th through September 29th in Birmingham.
