B-Royals Fall 15-3 at Elizabethton

Elizabethton, TN - The Burlington Royals (0-2) fell to the Elizabethton Twins (2-0) 15-3 on the road Wednesday night.
The Royals scored first for the second straight night, putting up a run in the top of the first on a Juan Carlos Negret RBI single that scored Jeison Guzman.
After Elizabethton tied the game in the second against Burlington starter Elvis Luciano, the Royals took the lead back in the fourth on another RBI from Negret, this time a double scoring Angel Medina.
The E-Twins punched back in the bottom of that inning scoring four to take a lead they would never surrender. Elizabethton continued its offensive surge with one run in the fifth, six in the sixth and three in the seventh.
Burlington did score a run in the eighth when Medina singled to bring in Jose Marquez, but Elizabethton took the game 15-3.
The third and final game of the series is set for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday in Elizabethton. The B-Royals home opener will be on Friday against the Bluefield Blue Jays at Burlington Athletic Stadium. First pitch is at 7:00 p.m.
The Burlington Royals are the Appalachian League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.
