Princeton takes 6-4 victory from Burlington

PRINCETON, WV - The Princeton Rays (32-17) defeated the Burlington Royals (16-36) by a score of 6-4 on Monday evening.Burlington jumped on top early, scoring three runs in the top of the second inning. Bhret Bewley hit his first home run of the year to give the Royals a 3-0

PRINCETON, WV - The Princeton Rays (32-17) defeated the Burlington Royals (16-36) by a score of 6-4 on Monday evening.
Burlington jumped on top early, scoring three runs in the top of the second inning. Bhret Bewley hit his first home run of the year to give the Royals a 3-0 lead.
Princeton battled back, scoring four runs in the bottom of that inning to take a 4-3 lead. The Rays added another run in the sixth to make it 5-3.
In the eighth, Matt Morales drove Bewley in with a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit back to one, but the Rays scored one in the bottom of the inning and took the game 6-4.
The fourth and final game of the series will be Tuesday night in Princeton. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
The Burlington Royals are the Appalachian League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.
