PRINCETON, WV - The Princeton Rays (33-17) defeated the Burlington Royals (16-37) by a score of 9-8 Tuesday night to sweep the four-game series.
The Royals got off to a hot start, scoring three times in the first inning.
In the second, Cole drove in his second run of the game, singling in
Princeton scored twice in the second and four times in the third to take a 6-4 lead. The game remained 6-4 until the seventh.
In the seventh, Cole scored on a throwing error to cut the deficit to one.
The Rays came back and scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth to take the game 9-8.
The B-Royals have the day off Wednesday and will begin a five-game home stand on Thursday.
The Burlington Royals are the Appalachian League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.
