Elizabethton, Tenn. - The Royals shut out the Twins on the road 5-0 on Thursday night.
Burlington took an early 2-0 in the first, scoring one run when Jay Charleston scored on a Jack Gethings single and another on a Jake Means RBI single. The Royals made in 5-0 in the top of the fifth, two on RBI singles from Vinnie Pasquantino and David Hollie and one on a Means RBI double.
The Royals pitching trio of Noah Murdock, Drew Parrish and Elliott Anderson kept the Twins offense off the scoreboard completely. Murdock tossed four no-hit innings while surrendering just one walk. Parrish allowed just three hits in three innings to earn the win. Anderson finished the job with two innings of one-hit ball. Elizabethton starter Ben Gross took the loss after surrendering two runs in four innings.
The Royals and Twins face off in the rubber match of their three-game series on Friday. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m.
