Danville, VA - The Danville Braves (14-9) used a late comeback to beat the Burlington Royals (4-20) by a score of 5-4 on Friday night. With the win, the Braves completed a four-game sweep of Burlington.
The Royals scored first in the game, when Bhret Bewley brought in Rhett Aplin with an RBI groundout in the second inning.
Danville answered back with a run in the second and two runs in the third to take a 3-1 lead.
The game remained 3-1 until the top of the seventh inning, when Burlington scored three times to take the lead. A two-run double from Hunter Strong tied the game at three, and then Rafael Romero's RBI single gave the Royals a 4-3 advantage.
However, Danville scored a run in the seventh and one in the eighth to win the game by a score of 5-4.
The B-Royals will return home on Saturday to start a three-game series against the Johnson City Cardinals.
The Burlington Royals are the Appalachian League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.
