(Ron Tonkin Field - Hillsboro, OR) - A 14-hit outburst helped the Vancouver Canadians take the rubber match of a five-game series in Hillsboro on Monday night as the Canadians moved back to .500 (6-6) with a 10-6 victory over the Hops.
LF Norberto Obeso (2-for-4) hit his 2nd home run of the season to help kickstart a four-run rally in the top of the 4th inning as five different Canadians had multi-hit nights including SS Logan Warmoth (2-for-4, 3RBI); DH Kacy Clemens (2-for-5, 2RBI); RF Brock Lundquist (3-for-5); C Matt Morgan (2-for-4, 2R) and Obeso. Vancouver finished the night 8-for-18 with runners in scoring position.
On the mound, Toronto Blue Jays 1st Rounder RHP Nate Pearson went two innings allowing a pair of harmless hits while striking out one. LHP Brody Rodning secured his 3rd victory of the season going 3 2/3 innings of work allowing five runs, just two earned before turning the ball over to LHP Grayson Huffman (1.1IP), RHP Chris Hall (1.0IP, 1R) and LHP Jake Fishman (1.0IP) who kept the Hops at bay.
With the victory, Vancouver improves to 6-6 (.500) on the second half of the season, and 27-23 (.540) overall through 50 regular season games. The Hops fall to 6-6 (.500) and 28-22 (.560) this season.
Vancouver now heads home for eight straight games out at historic Scotiabank Field with Tri-City coming in from August 8-10 and Salem-Keizer following after (August 11-15) with all games heard on both TSN1040/1410 Sports Radio & www.canadiansbaseball.com.
