Captains to Host RubberDucks in Pre-Season Exhibition Game at Classic Park

(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, will take on the Indians Double-A Akron RubberDucks in a special pre-season exhibition game presented by VisitPITTSBURGH on Tuesday, April 1 at Classic Park in Eastlake. The seven-inning contest will start at 5:00 PM.

The game will mark the first time since 2007 that the organizations will meet in a pre-season affair and provides the opportunity for Captains fans to see several former Lake County players who have advanced through the Indians Farm System. In addition, fans will have the chance to see former Captains manager David Wallace guide the RubberDucks while Jeff Harris will once again be Wallace's pitching coach as he was in 2012 with the Captains.

Following the contest, players and coaches from both teams will take part in an exclusive meet-the-teams party that will be held in the leftfield picnic area.

Admission to the game and the post-game private event, which will feature a buffet dinner, will be complimentary to individuals who have purchased the following Captains ticket plans for the 2014 season:

  • Captains 20-game mini plan package
  • Captains 35-game mini plan package
  • Captains full season ticket holders

Individuals or companies with these ticket packages will receive game tickets and party passes to the meet-the-teams party. The post-game party will feature the opportunity to take pictures with, and get autographs from all of the players and coaches from both teams.

Exhibition game tickets will be $6 for the general public and are available for purchase in-person at the Classic Park Box Office, via phone at 440.954.WINS or at CaptainsBaseball.com.

The Captains open the 2014 season at home on Friday, April 4 at 6:30 PM against the Lansing Lugnuts. Opening Weekend will continue on April 5 when Lake County hosts its first-ever scheduled double-header in a 1:00 PM contest against the Lugnuts. The series will conclude on Sunday afternoon, April 6 with a family-friendly 1:30 PM start.
