Captains Win 2-0 in 12 Innings

(South Bend, IN)- Lake County defeated the Silver Hawks by a final of 2-0 in 12 innings on Sunday Afternoon. The game was scoreless until the top of the 12th. Nellie Rodriguez led off with a single and Anthony Santander doubled him to third base. Josh McAdams singled home the first run and Cody Ferrell followed suit. The Captains snapped an eighth game losing streak with the win.

RHP Caleb Hamrick (1-2) started the game for the Captains. Hamrick did not get a decision. Caleb pitched five and two thirds innings and allowed three hits, four walks and five strikeouts. One walk was intentional. Jordan Milbrath entered in relief. Milbrath pitched four and one third inning and allowed one hit and one walk. Milbrath struck out five. In the 11th Wander Beras entered in relief and earned the win. Beras struck out one. Ben Heller allowed one base runner but closed down the game in the 12th to earn his first save of the season.

RHP Aaron Blair (1-1) started for South Bend and did not get a decision. Blair pitched seven innings of shutout baseball, and allowed just one hit. Blair walked just three and struck out twelve. Daniel Gibson entered in relief for south Bend. Gibson went one inning and struck out one. Silvino Bracho entered in the ninth inning for South Bend and pitched a 1-2-3 inning. LHP Jose Jose (0-1) entered in the tenth inning. Jose (0-1) took the loss. He allowed both runners to score and allowed four hits, two walks and two strikeouts.

The Captains will return home to Eastlake, Ohio on Monday to take on the West Michigan Whitecaps in game one of a four game series. The Captains will start RHP Adam Plutko (0-0, 4.15) and West Michigan will counter with RHP Chad Green (0-0, 3.75). First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM from Classic Park.

Monday is Buck Night and will feature $1 Five Star Brand Hot Dogs, chips, French fries, popcorn, soda and beer and $1 off a box seat ticket.

For the entire month of April, Captains fans are invited to donate food to the Harvest for Hunger Campaign for the Cleveland Food Bank.   Fans can bring food donations to the Classic Park Box Office now through Wednesday, April 30 and receive a discounted $8 ticket to any home game starting Monday, April 14th through Wednesday, April 30.
