Clint Frazier to Join the Captains April 17

(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, will have the Indians first round pick of the 2013 draft, Clint Frazier, joining the squad from extended spring training on Thursday, April 17 in time for that evening's game against the Burlington Bees at 6:30 PM.  

Frazier, 19, was the fifth overall pick in the 2013 draft out of Loganville High School in Georgia.

On June 25, 2013, he burst onto the scene when he homered, tripled and drove in four runs in his professional debut with the AZL Indians. He hit .318 (14- 44) against left- handed pitchers, and collected all five home runs vs. righties. 

Frazier was the first high school position player selected in the 2013 draft after batting .485 with 17 homers, 45 RBI, 56 runs scored, a .561 on- base pct. and a 1.134 slugging pct. in 32 games for Loganville High School. 

He was named the Gatorade National Baseball Player of the Year and enters the 2014 season ranked as the second best prospect in the entire Indians organization by Baseball America.   He was labeled the best power hitting prospect in the publication's annual "Best Tools" survey.
