National Anthem Tryouts Saturday at Great Lakes Mall
(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, the Class A Affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, will hold tryouts for National Anthem singers at Great Lakes Mall in Mentor on Saturday, February 23, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The tryouts will be part of the "Shop Lake County" show that is presented by the Lake County Chambers of Commerce and the Great Lakes Mall. The show is February 23 and 24.
All individuals and groups who are interested in singing "The Star Spangled Banner" prior to a 2013 home game may audition on this date, including those who have performed in the past. Last year there were over twenty singers/groups that auditioned who were chosen to sing at a Captains game. Anthem tryouts are available on a first-come, first-served basis during the designated time period.
This will serve as the only live audition date prior to the 2013 season. All interested parties will be required to sing a live, a capella version of the national anthem on a microphone at Great Lakes Mall.
Judging will be based on lyrical accuracy, voice quality, presentation, voice projection and overall performance quality. Lyric sheets will not be allowed at the auditions.
The Captains home opener is Thursday April 4 at 6:30 PM as the Captains welcome the Lansing Lugnuts, an affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, to Classic Park.
Full season tickets plans, 7-, 12-, 20-, and 35-game mini ticket plans for the 2013 season are on sale now at great prices complete with several exclusive benefits. Information can be found at the Captains website www.captainsbaseball.com.
