TinCaps Erase 8 Run Deficit and Win 12-11 in 10 Innings

(Fort Wayne, IN)- Trea Turner singled past a drawn in infield in the bottom of the tenth inning to give the TinCaps a walk-off 12-11 win over the Captains. Turner had two hits on the day. At the seventh inning stretch the TinCaps were trailing 11-3 and scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh and eighth innings to tie the game at 11 before winning it in extras.

Fort Wayne took the early lead in the bottom of the first inning. Trea Turner tripled to begin the ballgame and came into score on a sacrifice fly by Fernando Perez and the score was 1-0 TinCaps. Fort Wayne added a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning. With two outs, Ronnie Richardson tripled and scored on a two run homer by Henry Charles. For Charles it was his fourth home run on the season and the score was 3-0 TinCaps after two.

Lake County took the lead in the top of the third inning. The Captains sent nine men to the plate and used six hits to score five runs. The inning was capped by Eric Haase's 15th home run on the season and the Captains led 5-3

Grant Fink smacked a lead off homer in the top of the fourth inning, his 10th of the season and the score was 6-3 Lake County. In the sixth, Fink was hit-by-a-pitch and then Claudio Bautista hit his tenth homer on the year to left field and the score was 8-3.

Lake County sent eight men to the plate and scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning. The Captains used four hits including a two run double from Clint Frazier and the lead swelled to 11-3.

Fort Wayne scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to cut into the Lake County lead. In the inning Fort Wayne used three hits and two errors to plate four runs and the score was 11-7. Fort Wayne tied the ballgame in the bottom of the eight inning. With the bases loaded and two outs, Fernando Perez hit the third home run of the ballgame for Fort Wayne, a Grand Slam and the score was tied at 11.

RHP Jordan Milbrath (3-11) started for Lake County and did not get a decision. Milbrath pitchedsix innings and allowed four hits, three earned runs and he struck out two. Milbrath left the game with an 11-3 lead. The Captains bullpen could not hold the lead as the pen combined to pitch three and one third innings and allowed eight hits, nine runs, three walks and one strikeout. The loss went to Alexis Paredes (3-4)

RHP Jimmi Brasoban (2-4) started for Fort Wayne and did not get a decision. Brasoban pitched three and two thirds innings and allowed six earned runs on nine hits. He walked three and fanned two. He also allowed a pair of homers. The Bullpen for Fort Wayne pitched six and one third innings and allowed 10 hits and five earned runs. The win went to Ryan Butler (1-0).

The Captains will stay in Fort Wayne Indiana on Friday to continue a four game series with the TinCaps. Lake County will start RHP Caleb Hamrick (3-7, 7.19) and Fort Wayne will counter with RHPCody Hebner (1-1, 1.82). First Pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM from Parkview Field.
