ZEBULON, N.C. - Due to its unrelenting popularity, the Carolina Mudcats are excited to announce an extension to the club's "Carolina Micro Brews" series of games as the Mudcats will temporarily re-brand as the Micro Brews for three additional games this season with new nights added on June 13, June 27, July 18 and on August 1 as previously announced. Each date coincides with Carolina's Thirsty Thursday promotion featuring half priced draft beers, half priced bottled Pepsi products and select $1.00 food items at Five County Stadium.
The Micro Brews promotion and series of games, presented by Tryon Family Dentistry, was first introduced before the 2019 season as a way for the Mudcats to pay homage to the club's Major League affiliate, the Milwaukee Brewers. The original schedule included four games, but has now been expanded to seven total games as the brand has been received with overwhelming success.
Carolina's newly re-worked Micro Brews schedule now features the following dates and promotions:
June 13 vs. Winston-Salem, 7:00 PM: Micro Brews Night featuring exclusive new merchandise available in the team store, Thirsty Thursday
June 27 vs. Potomac, 7:00 PM: Micro Brews Night, Thirsty Thursday, Bark in the Park presented by Dirty Dogs Spa, Souvenir Plastic Beer Stein Giveaway (limited quantity, while supplies last)
July 18 vs. Myrtle Beach, 7:00 PM: Micro Brews Night, Thirsty Thursday, Negro League Appreciation Night presented by the City of Rocky Mount
August 1 vs. Down East, 7:00 PM: Micro Brews Night, Thirsty Thursday, Bottle Opener Souvenir Giveaway
The popularity of the new alternate team identity has resulted in a surge in merchandise sales and overall attention for the Mudcats this season. Online sales have spread across the nation and the original Micro Brews announcement quickly became the most popular Instagram post made in team history. The Micro Brews logo, jerseys and hats have also been featured in several local publications, on local television and showcased nationally on ESPN's SportsCenter, on MiLB.com and by sports business reporter Darren Rovell.
The Micro Brews moniker and brand features a blue and yellow color scheme designed after the Brewers. The new cap logo features an interlocking "M" and "B" logo for Micro Brews, while the jersey logo reads Micro Brews with a hop flower dotting the letter "i" in Micro. The front of the jersey also features the Mudcats logo and uniform number. The left-sleeve also features the interlocking M and B logo placed on a yellow and blue barrel, as well as blue and yellow piping along the edges of the sleeves.
