Captains Blank Kernels Sunday

Lake County secured a 2-0 lead in the top of the seventh. Benson tagged Sammons for a one-out solo shot to put the Captains on the scoreboard.
The Captains scored two more runs during the ninth for a 4-0 advantage.
The win went to Vasquez (3-5) while the loss was charged to Sammons (5-5). Teaney posted perfect seventh and eighth innings for his third hold. Nelson conceded a pair of singles within the ninth in a non-save situation.
This six-game Kernels homestand wraps up Monday afternoon with the series finale against the Lake County Captains. First pitch is scheduled for 12:05 p.m., and Kernels right-hander
Monday's homestand finale features a Noon Game Combo Special, an $8.50 package for a regular sandwich, a choice of chips or popcorn, and a 16 oz. regular draft beer or 20 oz. bottled soda or water. The KCRG First Alert Storm Team will be at the ballpark on KCRG Weather Academy Day. The Kernels Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. On Sundays when the Kernels have a home game, the Kernels Ticket Office will open at 11:00 a.m.
