Kernels and River Bandits to play day/night doubleheader on May 16th

Make up from the game postponed on April 8th

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Quad Cities River Bandits will play a day/night doubleheader on Wednesday, May 16th. The doubleheader is a make-up from April 8th when the Kernels and River Bandits were postponed due to snow and cold weather.

Both games in the doubleheader will be 7 innings with the first game starting at 12:05 PM with the gates opening at 11:00 AM. Following the conclusion of the day game, the stadium will be cleared, and the gates will open at 5:30 PM for the night game with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 PM.

Please note that this day/night doubleheader will be treated as two separate ticketed events. This means that if you have a ticket for the day game, it will NOT get you admission to the night game. Tickets for the 6:35 PM game are on sale now.

Your Cedar Rapids Kernels have a day off on Monday, and then head to Beloit for a three-game series with the Snappers starting Tuesday, April 17th. They return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Friday, April 20th and open a seven-game home stand with games against Kane County and Burlington that runs through Thursday, April 26th.
