LEXINGTON, Ky. - Outfielder Pablo Olivares drilled an 0-2 mistake over the bleachers in left for his third home run in the last two days as the Charleston RiverDogs topped the Legends, 8-5, to complete a three-game sweep on Saturday night at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
Coming off the first multi-homer game of his career on Friday night, the 20-year-old collected three more hits, including his ninth inning blast that capped a tremendous weekend in Kentucky for the Venezuela native. Olivares finished the three days in Lexington going 8-for-15 with three home runs and 11 RBI. After coming into the 2018 season with just two career home runs to his name, he has now gone deep six times between Charleston and Tampa this year.
The RiverDogs (36-35, 3-0) leaned on a quick start when they led 5-0 after four, but the Legends (37-34, 0-3) used one big swing to get back into the game when center fielder Brewer Hicklen drilled a grand slam to left field to cut the deficit to one. It marked the second grand slam in as many days for Lexington; the Royals farm club had not collected a four-run round-tripper over their first 69 games of the season prior.
Left fielder Carlos Vidal also drove in a pair for Charleston, including connecting on his first home run of the season, a fly to right field that pushed the advantage to 6-4 in the sixth. Third baseman Dennicher Carrasco roped a leadoff homer to nearly the same spot in the bottom half, pulling the Legends back within a run.
The three-game series featured 13 home runs between the RiverDogs and Legends after the two clubs launched six out of the yard on Friday night.

Right-handers Kyle Zurak and Braden Bristo combined for three innings of scoreless relief to finish the game. Zurak fanned four of the six batters he faced for a hold before Bristo threw up a zero for his fourth save of the season.
Starter Janson Junk (2-1) was the benefactor of the early lead, notching his second win and going six innings with four runs allowed on the homer.
With the win, the RiverDogs will remain as one of up to two teams to start the second-half 3-0.
