As fans eagerly wait for the return of baseball in The United States, the Charleston RiverDogs have announced a partnership with the Samsung Lions of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO).

This mutually beneficial relationship between the two organizations is set to begin immediately with the main objective of encouraging fans to “adopt” the Samsung Lions as the Charleston RiverDogs’ partner team. The two teams will work together to cultivate a fanbase of Lions fans in the Charleston-area, as Lowcountry baseball fans anticipate the return of baseball at Joseph P. Riley Jr., Park.

Highlights of the partnership include, but are not limited to:

· Dissemination of Samsung Lions team information to fans via RiverDogs media outlets on behalf of the Samsung Lions including scores, stats, highlights, and more

· Educating fans about the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) and the similarities and differences of baseball in another country

· Joint fan-centric promotions via social media that will offer the opportunity for fans to get to know more about the Samsung Lions

· A signature RiverDogs “To-Go from The Joe” Korean food collaboration with the Samsung Lions

· A merchandise collaboration between the RiverDogs and the Samsung Lions

“We are just as eager as the fans are for the return of baseball in The U.S.,” President and General Manager Dave Echols said. “Taking a fun and proactive approach with fan engagement is something the RiverDogs are no strangers to, and we hope our fans will embrace our relationship with the Samsung Lions of the KBO League.”

The partnership comes as a byproduct of a previous visit from Samsung Lions front-office members during their visit to Charleston in 2018. During this trip RiverDogs and Lions staff members had the chance to network and familiarize themselves with baseball in another

respective country. Since then, the two staffs have maintained contact and now will get to enjoy joint marketing efforts with the common goal of cultivating and developing new fan bases for both teams.
