CHARLESTON, S.C. - Celebrating their "175th season in dog years," the Charleston RiverDogs are back for a homestand of massive proportions, featuring ton-sized horses and Charleston's all-time home run leader, all crammed into a three-day stint against the Rome Braves starting on Wednesday night at Joe Riley Park.
Wednesday, June 27, 7:05 p.m: Way Back Wednesday/Appearance by former RiverDog Ben Jones: Celebrate the RiverDogs' 25th season as the club kicks it back to their inaugural 1994 campaign. The Dogs will welcome one of the club's all-time record holders, outfielder Ben Jones, who clobbered a team-record 35 home runs over two seasons in the Lowcountry (2005-06) while accruing 165 career RBI. Jones, who was the RiverDogs' triple-crown leader in 2006, will help celebrate the RiverDogs' milestone year as he signs pregame autographs and throws out a ceremonial first pitch. As part of a "Way Back Wednesday" presented by Kirkman Broadcasting and ABC News 4, the RiverDogs kick it back to their debut season, throwing back prices to $4 general admission seats presented by Harris Teeter and teal and purple uniforms from the 1994 campaign. The RiverDogs will also recognize the All-Lowcountry Baseball and Softball teams on the field before the game.
Thursday, June 28, 7:05 p.m.: Thirsty Thursday featuring an Appearance by the Budweiser Clydesdales: Get to The Joe early for an appearance by the Budweiser Clydesdales, who will be available behind the Riley Park right field wall from 5:00-6:30 before galloping to the front gate and welcoming fans on Fishburne Street until 7:30. Stick around for a Budweiser Thirsty Thursday presented by 95SX featuring dollar brews in the Budweiser Ashley View Pub as DJ Natty Heavy spins the hits all night long. Be sure to follow DJ Natty, Southern Eagle, and 95SX on social media for chances to win wristbands that give you access to Club Budweiser -- the VIP experience where you don't wait in line for beer. It's also Construction Night at The Joe, presented by Sunbelt Rentals.
Friday, June 29, 7:05 p.m.: Fan Choice Friday Fireworks: The Charleston club hands the playlist over to the fans on a Home Telecom Friday Night Fireworks in conjunction with WEZL and Live 5 News. The Dogs will kick back as they play fan suggestions submitted via social media, including during the postgame extravaganza. Fans can wear red to receive a buck off their ticket at the gate with the option to donate that dollar to the Palmetto Military Support Group as part of a Red Shirt Friday.
RiverDogs single-game tickets, including options to the Riley Park Club, are now available for the 2018 campaign, the club's 25th season as the RiverDogs and their "175th season in dog years."
