RiverDogs Settle for an Average Homestand Fraught with Misspellings

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston RiverDogs are back home Tuesday and promise their fans a perfectly average homestand at The Joe. Kicking off with Tuesday's "C" Night that will celebrate the unheralded middle of the pack, the RiverDogs will entertain fans with a weeklong homestand also highlighted by a trivial celebration of famous misspellings on "Moops Night," Charlie's birthday celebration and more.
The week at The Joe starts Tuesday night as the Charleston club entertains the West Virginia Power (Seattle Mariners) before finishing off the seven-day stint with a four-game set against the Augusta GreenJackets (San Francisco Giants):
Tuesday, May 14, 7:05 p.m.: C Night/Live & Local Tuesday: Baseball is a game of averages so join the RiverDogs for an average night out at The Joe. Kids who bring in a "C" on their report card get in free and the RiverDogs will wear their alternate Charleston C jerseys. Enjoy "C"food specials as the RiverDogs celebrate the meaty part of the bell curve on a night that promises to be perfectly mediocre. Fans can also celebrate Charleston's local scene on a Food Lion Live & Local Tuesday, presented by 105.5 The Bridge with a local farmer's market on the concourse and the new BellyItcher Ale, the RiverDogs' branded beer proudly brewed in conjunction with local brewery Rusty Bull.
Wednesday, May 15, 7:05 p.m.: Peanut-Free Night: For one night only, no peanuts will be on sale at the park with special sections for those with peanuts allergies available, presented by Charleston Allergy & Asthma. The designated areas will be completely peanut-free with a thorough cleansing of the sections prior to the game. As part of a Wild Card Wednesday presented by 92.5 Kickin Country, seniors (65 and older) eat free with a ticket purchase at the gate and can run the bases postgame.
Thursday, May 16, 7:05 p.m.: Budweiser Thirsty Thursday: Enjoy dollar beers as you take in the scintillating tunes of DJ Natty Heavy in the Ashley View Pub on a Budweiser Thirsty Thursday at The Joe. Fans can follow DJ Natty Heavy and 95SX on social media to win VIP wristbands to Club Budweiser and cut the beer lines.
Friday, May 17, 7:05 p.m.: Elton John Fireworks: Celebrate the expansive library of one the great singer-songwriters of all-time, complete with a Red Shirt Friday Fireworks extravaganza presented by Home Telecom on a Boeing Red Shirt Friday. In conjunction with 103.5 WEZL and Live 5 News, fans wearing red at the gate will receive $1 off regular ticket pricing at the box office. During an inning break, a deployed military serviceman, servicewoman or veteran will be called upon and thanked for their service.
Saturday, May 18, 6:05 p.m.: Moops Night: The RiverDogs take the field as the Charleston Moops, as they pay homage to the famous "Seinfeld" reference. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Trivial Pursuit with Mix 95.9 and Fox 24, the Dogs will host an evening of trivial diversion complete with photo opportunities with the Moops, trivia about other famous misspellings, and more. The first 100 fans through the gate will receive a replica trivia card and in the words of George Constanza, "I'm sorry, the card says Moops."

Sunday, May 19, 5:05 p.m.: Charlie's Birthday/Holy City Sunday: Charlie T. RiverDog celebrates another trip around the globe on an MUSC Health Family Sunday in the Holy City. Complete with a birthday party featuring several of Charlie's mascot friends, families can enjoy free parking and play pregame catch on the field. Kids at the ballpark eat free, run the bases post-game and play catch on the field pre-game, and members of the MUSC Children's Health Kids Club (12 and under) get in for free presented by Y102.5 and ABC News 4. For those that can't make it out to the ballpark, catch the game on MyTV Charleston (Ch. 36 over air) as "the voice of the RiverDogs" Matt Dean is joined by ABC News 4's Scott Eisberg every Holy City Sunday at The Joe.
Monday, May 20, 7:05 p.m.: Monday Dog Day: Close out a week at The Joe with man's best friend on a Monday Dog Day presented by 96.9 The Wolf. Two-legged fans can enjoy dollar beers and hot dogs presented by Busch Light while cheering on the RiverDogs with their dog. A Bay Street Biergarten craft beer tasting will also be available for fans to enjoy on the concourse. As part of Dogs with a Cause, the RiverDogs and Blackbaud, the local software and services leader for the global philanthropic community, will share the spotlight with local non-profit Pets4GIs, Inc.
