HAGERSTOWN, MD - Former South Carolina standout Dom Thompson-Williams ripped a home run in three consecutive at-bats between the two games of a doubleheader, but the RiverDogs were swept by the Suns in Tuesday's twin bill by finals of 10-7 and 7-4 at Municipal Stadium.
The former Gamecock outfielder went deep in his final two plate appearances of game one before blasting his third in a row on his first swing in game two to run his longball total up to five, all in the last three games for Charleston (17-21).
The RiverDogs dropped three of four in the series with Hagerstown (13-25) and finish their weeklong Northern trip going just 1-6.
Despite a loss, Charleston blasted a season-high four longballs in the first game of the two seven-inning contests. Three all came in an explosive sixth inning that brought the Dogs back within a pair after trailing 9-1 at one point in the opener. After catcher Jason Lopez drove in two with a deep shot off the video board in left-center, his third of the season, Thompson-Williams and Steven Sensley went back-to-back on consecutive pitches, hammering reliever Carlos Acevedo for five runs in the frame. Sensley finished 3-for-7 with a pair of RBI in the twin bill and now leads the Charleston club with six dingers on the season.

Charleston's pitching staff, that entered the series ranking among the top-two in professional baseball in both ERA and WHIP, allowed nine or more runs in three of the four games of the series, including three of their largest four totals given up this season. The offense, that entered play ranking as the worst run-producing unit in the league, came through with their most dominant series, hitting .315 (39-for-124) with 11 homers in four games.
Thompson-Williams finished the day 3-for-5 with four runs scored and four RBI to raise his season average to .394 (13-for-33) in nine games this season. Six of his hits have gone for extra-bases.
Lefty Dalton Lehnen (2-3) issued three walks in the second inning and was chased in the opener to take the loss. In game two, righty Janson Junk (0-1) yielded a first-inning three-run homer to left fielder Aldrem Corredor and finished with five runs (four earned) allowed in his Class A debut.
