The former Gamecock outfielder went deep in his final two plate appearances of game one before blasting his third in a row on his first swing in game two to run his longball total up to five, all in the last three games for Charleston (17-21).
The RiverDogs dropped three of four in the series with Hagerstown (13-25) and finish their weeklong Northern trip going just 1-6.
Despite a loss, Charleston blasted a season-high four longballs in the first game of the two seven-inning contests. Three all came in an explosive sixth inning that brought the Dogs back within a pair after trailing 9-1 at one point in the opener. After catcher
Charleston's pitching staff, that entered the series ranking among the top-two in professional baseball in both ERA and WHIP, allowed nine or more runs in three of the four games of the series, including three of their largest four totals given up this season. The offense, that entered play ranking as the worst run-producing unit in the league, came through with their most dominant series, hitting .315 (39-for-124) with 11 homers in four games.
Thompson-Williams finished the day 3-for-5 with four runs scored and four RBI to raise his season average to .394 (13-for-33) in nine games this season. Six of his hits have gone for extra-bases.
