(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) – The Charlotte Knights dropped game two of the six-day, seven-game series against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday night from Truist Field.

Charlotte’s lone run of the game came in the bottom of the seventh inning thanks to an RBI single by catcher Nate Nolan, which tied the game at 1-1. The ‘Shrimp then took the lead in the top of the ninth inning on a Tristan Pompey RBI triple off reliever Matt Foster (0-1, 2.08). Foster allowed the go-ahead run and was charged with the loss.

Designated hitter Luis Robert continued his major league rehab assignment and went 2-for-4 at the plate for the Knights in the loss. Robert, on rehab from the Chicago White Sox, singled and doubled in Wednesday’s game. White Sox outfielder Jake Lamb, also on rehab, chipped in with two hits as well.

RHP Jimmy Lambert started for the Knights and tossed two scoreless innings.

The Knights will continue the series against the Jumbo Shrimp with a doubleheader on Thursday night starting with game one at 6:05 p.m. from Truist Field.
