Fulmer Earns Fifth Win in Five Career Starts Against Tides

(NORFOLK, VA) - RHP Carson Fulmer allowed just two runs over 5.1 innings pitched and LF Mason Robbins added three hits to lead the Charlotte Knights past the Norfolk Tides by a score of 7-2 on Friday in game two of their four-game series from Harbor Park in Norfolk, VA.

(NORFOLK, VA) - RHP Carson Fulmer allowed just two runs over 5.1 innings pitched and LF Mason Robbins added three hits to lead the Charlotte Knights past the Norfolk Tides by a score of 7-2 on Friday in game two of their four-game series from Harbor Park in Norfolk, VA. The win was Charlotte's 13th since May 25th (13-7 during that span).

Fulmer (3-2, 3.62) started the game for the Knights and pitched into the sixth inning on Friday to earn the win. Making his fifth career start against the Tides, Fulmer gave up two runs on seven hits. He improved to 5-0 with a 1.63 ERA (27.2 IP) all-time against the Tides. RHP Jeanmar Gόmez (1.2 IP), RHP Gregory Infante (1.0 IP), and LHP Aaron Bummer (1.0 IP) combined to hold the Tides scoreless over the final 3.2 innings out of the Charlotte bullpen.

As a team, the Knights combined to tally 13 total hits on the night. Robbins continued his hot hitting and led the way with a three-hit game. CF Jacob May , 3B Matt Skole , and SS Eddy Alvarez all chipped in with two hits apiece. May also added his team-high 13th stolen base of the season.

Appearing in his fourth game with the Knights on a major league rehab assignment from the Chicago White Sox, Avisaíl García went 1-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI. García, who batted second and played right field for a third consecutive day, is now 4-for-13 with one home run and four RBIs at the plate with the Knights this year.

The Knights will continue their four-game road series against the Norfolk Tides from Harbor Park on Saturday evening.
