Kopech (6-7, 3.81) dazzled on the mound for the Knights on Saturday. The 22-year-old allowed just five hits over his seven shutout innings en route to his sixth win of the season. Kopech fanned nine batters for his second consecutive start and now leads all of Minor League Baseball in strikeouts this season with 161. Since June 20th, he is 4-2 with a 2.33 ERA in 10 games started with 79 strikeouts over that span (58.0 innings pitched).
The Charlotte offense backed Kopech's solid start with eight runs on 15 hits. The eight-run outburst was the second in as many days for the Knights, who won for the 54th time this season. First baseman
