DUNEDIN, Fla. (June 12, 2018) - Five Stone Crabs notched multiple hits Tuesday, but the Dunedin Blue Jays walked off the Stone Crabs 2-1 at Dunedin Stadium.
With the game tied 1-1 entering the bottom of the ninth, Dunedin (27-32) got singles from Kevin Smith and Nash Knight before Kacy Clemens drew a walk to load the bases with one out. Alberto Mineo then lined a single to right to give the Jays a 2-1 win.
Charlotte (29-32) reliever Spencer Jones (2-2) was saddled with the loss, allowing just that one run over 3.1 innings.
Mineo drove in both Dunedin runs Tuesday, plating Knight with a double to center in the second to give the Blue Jays a 1-0 lead.
Stone Crabs starter Benton Moss went four innings of one-run ball in his first game back from the disabled list. Moss surrendered just one hit while striking out eight and walking one.
With Charlotte trailing 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Miles Mastrobuoni doubled to the wall in left before Rene Pinto moved him to third on an infield single. David Olmedo-Barrera followed with a single to right to plate Mastrobuoni and tie the game at one.
The Stone Crabs left ten men on base Tuesday, going 2-for-9 with runners in scoring position.
With the series tied, Blake Bivens (2-0, 1.35) will take the ball for Charlotte Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Angel Perdomo (1-3, 3.14) makes the start for the Blue Jays. Coverage starts at 6:15 p.m. on the Stone Crabs Baseball Network.
