PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (August 7, 2018) - Three Stone Crabs pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout Tuesday, helping Charlotte claim the series with a 4-0 blanking of the Bradenton Marauders at Charlotte Sports Park. Stone Crabs (60-50, 26-17) southpaw Brendan McKay (3-2) threw five scoreless innings, giving up three hits while striking out five

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (August 7, 2018) - Three Stone Crabs pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout Tuesday, helping Charlotte claim the series with a 4-0 blanking of the Bradenton Marauders at Charlotte Sports Park.
 
Stone Crabs (60-50, 26-17) southpaw Brendan McKay (3-2) threw five scoreless innings, giving up three hits while striking out five Marauders (50-57, 15-27), earning his third win as a member of the Stone Crabs. Phoenix Sanders  tossed three hitless innings in his High-A debut while Trevor Charpie finished the game with a scoreless ninth.
 
In a scoreless game in the bottom of the third, Vidal Brujan  doubled to right with one out. Two batters later, Robbie Tenerowicz  lined a single up the middle to give the Stone Crabs a 1-0 lead.
 
In the bottom of the fourth, Rene Pinto singled to center to start the inning. The next batter was Jake Fraley , who lined a run-scoring double to the wall in left center to extend the Charlotte lead to 2-0. 
 
With the Stone Crabs still leading 2-0 in the sixth, they loaded the bases with one out. Brujan stepped to the plate and walked on a 3-2 count to plate Kevin Padlo from third and extend the lead to 3-0.
 
Stone Crabs added another insurance run in the seventh. With Pinto at first and two outs, Fraley doubled to the wall in right to score Pinto and make the lead 4-0. 
 
The Stone Crabs will look to sweep the Marauders at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday. Riley O'Brien (3-3, 4.66) will go to the mound for Charlotte, against Mike Wallace (4-8, 5.14) of Bradenton. Coverage begins at 6:20 p.m. on the Stone Crabs Baseball Network
