Lookouts Drop Both Games of Sunday's Doubleheader

The Chattanooga Lookouts lose 4-0, and 4-2 to the Birmingham Barons in Sunday's doubleheader. Over 14 innings the Lookouts offense totaled two runs on 9 hits.  
Birmingham began the day with two runs in the first inning on a sacrifice fly and a groundout. They added two more in the sixth on a bases loaded hit-by-pitch and a double play. Lookouts pitcher Randy LeBlanc was tagged with the loss, but only surrendered two runs over five innings while striking out five batters.  
On offense Chattanooga only tallied four hits and two walks. Birmingham starter Ian Clarkin went 5.1 scoreless and Ryan Burr earned the save.  
In game two the Lookouts did not fare much better. The Barons once again sprung out to a lead, this time on a solo homer by Seby Zavala and a RBI single by Ryan Brett. They added two more in the fifth to increase their lead to four.  
The home team's offense began to show some life in the bottom of the sixth inning. Tanner English led off the inning with a triple and was plated by a Sean Miller single. Miller later scored the team's second run of the game on a LaMonte Wade Jr sac fly.  
Lewis Thorpe drops to 0-1 on the season after giving up all four runs. Reliever Omar Bencomo performed admirably in relief with 2.2 scoreless innings.  
Tomorrow, the Lookouts and the Barons will play game five of the series at 7:15 p.m. Monday is the Lookouts first Kids Eat Free Monday of the season presented by Northshore Pediatric Dentistry. Gates for tomorrow's contest open at 6:00 p.m.
