CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Chattanooga Lookouts fell in extras, 12-9, to the Birmingham Barons in the opening game of the second half on Tuesday night from AT&T Field.

Birmingham (32-38) got the offense going, scoring five in the eighth, two in the ninth, and put up three runs in the 10th to complete a seven-run comeback.

Nick Quintana led the Chattanooga (34-46) offense in his Double-A debut going 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBIs. Alex McGarry finished 2-for-4 with a home run, and a pair of RBIs, and Allen Cerda launched one into the Chattanooga skyline with a two-run shot.

Jose Rodriguez led the Baron charge with a 4-for-4 day with a double and a walk. Raudy Read and Alex Destino each had a home run in the win.

Scott Blewett got the start for the visitors pitching five innings allowing a run on three hits with two walks and a pair of strikeouts.

Theo Denlinger (1-1) picked up his first win of the year pitching the eighth and ninth allowing just a walk while striking out three. Sam Peralta had his fourth save of the season pitching the 10th striking out the side.

Carson Spiers got the start on the mound for the Lookouts pitching six innings giving up two runs on eight hits, two walks, and a strikeout.

Ricky Salinas (3-3) was tagged with the loss pitching an inning allowing a hit, three runs (two earned), two walks, and two strikeouts.

The two teams will face off again on Wednesday at AT&T Field. First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m.
