Chattanooga could not overcome Jackson's pitching staff Friday evening as they were shutout 8-0.
The Lookouts were down early, but not out as they stayed in the game thanks to LHP Packy Naughton. Naughton put together another superb start as he notched his fourth consecutive quality start going six innings strong, allowing just a pair of runs, on five hits, while striking out three.
Jackson hit the ground running early offensively and never looked back collecting a pair of runs in the first and third innings. Seth Beer got the Generals on the board in the first inning with a double to dead center scoring a flying Pavin Smith, while Pavin Smith added the second run in the third inning with a sac fly to to left.
The Chattanooga bats were cold all night long with RHP Emilio Vargas on the bump, earning his fourth win on the year. The Lookouts collected only four hits, while adding only a pair of baserunners in scoring position the entire game.
The scoring didn't stop there for the Generals opening the floodgates for six more runs combined between the eighth and ninth innings to extend their lead to 8-0.
The Lookouts are back in action tomorrow with a 7:15 first pitch as LHP Reiver Sanmartin is set to get the ball vs. D'backs top pitching prospect RHP (J.B. Bukauskas (0-0, 8.10 ERA).
