Lookouts Swept in Three-Game Series

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Chattanooga Lookouts were defeated, 7-1, by the Tennessee Smokies to complete the three-game sweep on Sunday afternoon from AT&T Field.

Tennessee (49-41) got on the board early with an RBI double from Alexander Canario in the first.

Chattanooga (38-52) answered in the fourth with an Alex McGarry solo home run to even things up but it was all the Smokies from there.

The guests took the lead in the sixth with a Canario lead-off home run. The Smokies then added four more in the eighth and tacked on an insurance run in the ninth.

Canario led the offense for Tennessee going 4-for-4 with a double, home run, and two RBIs. Walker Powell (2-2) got the win on the mound pitching four innings in relief allowing just a pair of hits and struck out four batters.

McGarry led the Lookout attack with a 2-for-3 day with a double, home run, walk, and RBI. Jacob Hurtubise had multiple hits beating out a pair of infield singles.

Stevie Branche (2-3) was tagged with the loss after going two innings giving up a run on two hits, a walk, and struck out five batters.

Chattanooga will be back in action on Tuesday as they welcome the Rocket City Trash Pandas for a six-game set. First pitch on Tuesday is set for 7:15 p.m.
