McGarry HRs Twice and Extends Hit Streak to 14 in Loss

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Chattanooga Lookouts fell to the Birmingham Barons, 10-4, on Friday night from AT&T Field.

Alex McGarry extended his hit streak to 14 games and crushed two home runs, hitting five home runs over the last four games. McGarry finished the game 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

It was a quiet night for Chattanooga (35-38) offensively until a Michael Siani lead-off home run in the seventh broke up a no-hitter. Franciso Urbaez followed it up with a double and McGarry hit his first home run of the night just over the wall.

Birmingham (34-39) got the scoring started in the third with an RBI single from Jose Rodriguez and added four more in the sixth and five insurance runs in the eighth to seal the win.

Garrett Davila (3-1) got the start for the Barons throwing five innings of no-hit ball allowing just two walks and struck out six to pick up the win. Will Carter carried on the no-hitter in the sixth but eventually ended up pitching two innings allowing three runs on four hits, a walk, and a trio of punchouts.

Connor Phillips (0-1) made his AA debut on the mound for the hosts giving up four runs on four hits, two walks, and struck out seven in five innings of work, being tagged with the loss.

The two teams meet again on Saturday at 7:15 p.m. at AT&T Field.
