Chris Shaw's game-ending double scored Mac Williamson from first base in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Sacramento River Cats a 3-2 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas Friday night. With the Salt Lake Bees' loss to Fresno Friday, the Chihuahuas and Bees remain tied for first place in the Southern Division, with three games left for both teams.
Nick Buss had both RBIs for El Paso in the loss. Buss went 1-for-5 with a triple and is now hitting .351, best in the Pacific Coast League, 11 points ahead of Colorado Springs' Iván De Jesús Jr. Franchy Cordero went 2-for-5 with singles in his first two at-bats, giving him a stretch of six consecutive hits dating back to Thursday's home game.
Friday's loss ended El Paso's season-high six-game winning streak. The Chihuahuas are now 7-6 in extra-inning games, as are the River Cats.
