LumberKings conclude historic season with postseason run

The Clinton LumberKings celebrate winning the Western Division title on the field in Cedar Rapids.

The 2019 season has come and gone, and with it, the Clinton LumberKings 64th season in the Midwest League. In many ways it was a record setting year for the year-one Single-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. By season's end, Miami sent seven of their top 30 prospects through Clinton, won 78 regular season games, and returned to the Midwest League Championship Series for the eighth time in franchise history.

Season Ends in Game Three Loss

LumberKings Swept in Midwest League Championship Series

The 2019 season came to an end for the Clinton LumberKings with a 5-0 loss to the South Bend Cubs. Clinton mustered just two hits in the game as they were swept in a best-of-five-game Midwest League Championship Series for just the second time in club history.

Extra Inning Game Two Loss

LumberKings on brink of elimination after 3-2 loss

Peyton Burdick drove home the tying run for Clinton in the top of the ninth, down to their final strike.

A wild pitch in the bottom of the 10th was the deciding factor in a Clinton LumberKings 3-2, 10-inning loss, to the South Bend Cubs at Four Winds Field on Thursday night. The final road game of the year pulls South Bend to within one win of the Midwest League title.

Late Homer Sinks LumberKings in Game One Loss to Cubs

The Clinton LumberKings fell in Game One of the Midwest League Championship Series 2-1 to the South Bend Cubs. A late home run by Nelson Maldonado was the difference for South Bend who moved to within two games of claiming a Midwest League title.

LumberKings take decisive third game with 6-2 win

The LumberKings celebrate on the field following their Western Division Title!

Kernels rally for two in the 9th to take Game Two 3-2 from Clinton

A combination of Josh Roberson, Manuel Rodriguez, and Zach Wolf shutout the Kernels in the LumberKings 4-1 Game One win. Evan Edwards homered for the LumberKings who have now won their first three playoff games and are one win away from returning to the Midwest League Championship Series.

Walters throws 7 no-hit innings, Clinton sinks Cougars with 10-1 win

Will Banfield drove home four with three hits in the LumberKings 10-1 playoff win.

Jake Walters threw seven no-hit innings and the Clinton LumberKings completed a sweep of the Cougars to advance to the Western Division Championship Series with a 10-1 win. A hit barrage of 16 hits by the LumberKings buried the Cougars int eh second game of the best of three-game set.

Bubba Hollins and Kameron Misner homer in LumberKings 7-3 win

Reed becomes third LumberKing in 2019 to nab League honor

Remey Reed earned Midwest League Pitcher of the Week honor for six perfect innings against the Burlington Bees on August 29th.
