Cedar Rapids, IA (May 26, 2018) - The Clinton LumberKings, in conjunction with the Seattle Mariners, have received left-handed pitcher Orlando Razo following a trade that sent right-handed pitcher Tommy Romero to the Tampa Bay Rays. The Mariners packaged Romero along with pitcher Andrew Moore in a deal with the Rays that brought back outfielder Denard Span and right-handed pitcher Alex Colome to the Mariners.

Romero, 20, was one of the LumberKings most effective starters this season. He owned the lowest ERA, 2.45, among all Clinton starters at the time of the trade and leaves with the third highest strikeout per nine inning ratio, 11.05, in the Midwest League. Romero made nine starts for Clinton this season going 3-3 with a 2.45 ERA while striking out 54 and walking 15.
