Casey Crosby baffled the Clippers with seven strong innings as Columbus was shut out by Toledo 3-0.
The Hens tallied the first run of the run game when Brad Davis drove home Ben Guez with an RBI single in the top of the second. Another run would cross the plate for Toledo in the top of the sixth when Quintin Berry sneaked a line drive homer just inside the right field foul pole. Argenis Diaz added to the Hens lead with an RBI double in the top of the seventh.
It was day in which the Clippers struggled mightily when it came to hitting. Columbus could only manage five hits the entire game as they could not do anything against Toledo left-hander Casey Crosby. Crosby (W, 1-3) pitched seven innings of shutout ball, striking out six and walking two. Giovanni Soto (L, 0-1) was saddled with the loss for Columbus. Bruce Rondon (S, 3) picked up the save for the Hens.
