Clippers Winter Ball Update

While some players head home to train during the off-season, other players head to the Caribbean to stay sharp in winter league competition. Four players that appeared for the Clippers in 2013 are currently playing winter ball. Here are the updated stats:

Pitchers

Brett Brach (Gigantes de Carolina, Puerto Rico): In one game, Brach threw 2.2 innings of scoreless baseball. Brach made two starts for the Clippers in 2013, going 1-0 while posting a 2.19 ERA.

Paolo Espino (Caribes Anzoategui, Venezuela): Espino is 1-2 with a 7.71 ERA over five starts. In 17 appearances (8 starts) with the Clippers last season, Espino went 4-6 with a 3.92 ERA.

Bryan Price (Bravos de Margarita, Venezuela): Out of all the pitchers in the Indians organization participating in winter ball, Price has recorded the most appearances (9). In those appearances, Price has 3.09 ERA in 11.2 innings with a 0-1 record.

Batters

Ezequiel Carrera (Navegantes del Magallanes, Venezuela): The lone Clippers batter playing winter ball, Carrera has played 29 games, where he has a .294 batting average with 1 home run and 10 runs batted in over 85 at bats.
