Francisco Lindor promoted to Columbus

Clippers add top prospect for playoff push
July 22, 2014

COLUMBUS - Late Monday night, the Cleveland Indians promoted SS Francisco Lindor from the Double-A Akron RubberDucks to the Columbus Clippers. The Indians' 2011 first round pick has had a breakout season in terms of offensive productivity. Lindor's team-leading 48 runs batted in through 88 games are already a career-high. With 25 stolen bases, he is set to break his previous career-high in that category (27).

Entering the 2014 season, Baseball America rated Lindor as the Cleveland Indians' top prospect (#13 overall), while rating him as the best hitter for average and the best strike-zone discipline in the Indians organization.

The addition of Lindor is important to the Clippers' playoff push. Entering play on July 22nd, the Clippers are second-place in the International League West Division, just one game back of both the division lead and the wild card.

The 20-year old is expected to make his Triple-A debut tonight at Louisville Slugger Field against the Bats at 7:05 pm. Tonight's game will be streamed live on MiLB.TV, or you can listen live on either AM 920 WMNI or ClippersBaseball.com via TuneIn Radio.

Lindor is expected to make his Huntington Park debut on Friday, July 25th at 7:15 pm against the Norfolk Tides. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster, at the Box Office, or over the phone at 614-462-2757.
