Cooper Elected To 2017 PCL All-Star Team

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox and the Pacific Coast League have announced that Sky Sox infielder Garrett Cooper has been elected to the PCL All-Star Team as the starting first baseman. The 2017 Triple-A All-Star Game will be held at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, WA, home of the Tacoma Rainiers, on Wednesday, July 12 starting at 7:00 PM MDT. The game will be broadcast live on MLB Network.

In his first full season at the Triple-A level, Cooper is hitting .357 (86-for-241) with 14 home runs, 20 doubles, 52 runs and 67 RBI in 64 games through June 28. He ranks among the Pacific Coast League leaders in batting average (2nd), slugging percentage (.614, 2nd), RBI (3rd) and doubles (T-6th).

The All-Star Game selection is the 2nd of Cooper's career. He was previously elected to the Southern League All-Star Team in 2016 as a member of the Biloxi Shuckers.
