Fireflies return home amid tight playoff race

COLUMBIA, SC – The Fireflies (17-12) sit just a half-game out of the playoffs as they return home for a six-game series with the Charleston RiverDogs (17-12), the Class-A Affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. This is the first time the Fireflies will play Charleston at Segra Park this season.

The Fireflies and RiverDogs kicked-off the second half playing each other, and Columbia was able to take two of the three games at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Ballpark. Overall, Charleston leads in the season series 7-5 with 12 games remaining between the two teams. The RiverDogs are loaded with Rays top prospects for a second-consecutive season. The middle infield holds Carson Williams and Willy Vasquez, who are ranked as the third and seventh best prospects, respectively by MLB.com. They also have two top pitching prospects in their rotation in Sandy Gaston and JJ Goss, who are listed as the Rays 10th and 16th-best prospects, respectively, by MLB.com.

MILLER LITE $2 TUESDAY: Stop by Segra Park Tuesday evening for one of our favorite promotions, coming back again for 2022. Enjoy $2 hot dogs, popcorn, fountain sodas and 12 oz cans of Miller Lite as the Fireflies open up a new series.

WHITE CLAW WEDNESDAY: The Fireflies are bringing back a special Wednesday tradition to get fans over the hump day blues! Wednesday, all 16 oz White Claw Seltzers are available at the ballpark for only $5. It’s also Prisma Night at the Ballpark, where Prisma employees will be recognized for what they do in our community prior to and during the game.

BUDWEISER THIRSTY THURSDAY: It’s always a beautiful night at Segra Park when you can get half-priced draft beer and fountain sodas. It’s even better when you can purchase $2 Bud Lights at the Budweiser Bow Tie Bar. Of course, this Thursday, that’s not all that will happen at the Budweiser Bow Tie Bar, make sure to head over early as we’ll be hosting a Disney Trivia night where the winners will take home some Fireflies prize packs.

BACK TO SCHOOL/TEACHER APPRECIATION NIGHT PRES. BY WEBSTER UNIVERSITY: Friday night is a special night at the ballpark! We’re celebrating one last hurrah! before the start of the 2022-23 school year. The first 1,000 fans through the gates at 6 pm will get a free Fireflies Jersey Lunchbox, and we’ll be honoring three teachers with Neon Apple Awards during the game. The teachers will be recognized and presented an award for what they do for their schools.

NICKELODEON PAW PATROL NIGHT PRES. BY SC DSS: PAW Patrol, ready for action! Marshall and Chase will be at Segra Park to help lead the Fireflies to victory as the Fireflies take on the RiverDogs. Columbia will don PAW Patrol Jerseys that’ll be auctioned off during the game, and we’ll have PAW Patrol games in-between innings the entire game.

SUNDAY FUNDAY: There’s always fun at Segra Park on Sundays! Come early to get autographs from Fireflies players from 4-4:15 pm on the concourse and after the game, stick around for kids run the bases! There’s not a better way to close out the weekend than watching the Fireflies at Segra Park!
