So now that it is 2021, what’s new and exciting?
We have a new affiliate in the Kansas City Royals – a partnership that will last for a minimum of 10 years!
We have a schedule that has the Championship Season starting on May 4th and ending on September 19th. Opening Night at Segra Park is scheduled for May 11th. There may yet be some modifications made to the schedule given the fluid nature of Covid-19; those changes (if any) will be determined by the Commissioner of Major League Baseball.
We are anticipating starting the season with a reduced capacity based on local and regional conditions related to the virus. As we get closer to the season, we will announce our ticketing plan and seating capacity after consulting with the City of Columbia, DHEC and the Department of Commerce.
This is not a complete accounting of all the updates for 2021! More information will be shared as soon as details such as capacity, ticket on-sale dates and further policies have been announced.
Does this mean there will be Fireflies Baseball at Segra Park this season?
Yes. We are scheduled for a 120-game season with 60 games at home.
Is Segra Park prepared to provide a clean and healthy environment for fans and guests at other events?
Segra Park has always provided a safe, clean and healthy environment for fans during all games and events. We will continue to make the health of guests our top priority and ensure that every possible measure will be taken to ensure the health of guests to Segra Park. Additional enhanced sanitization programs are in place and will make sure your experience at the ballpark is comfortable and clean.
Will there be any changes to the process for getting food and beverage?
Due to social distancing requirements, concession stands will have limited points of sale. To make the process easier for our fans, we will be implementing the following changes to enhance your experience:
-The Fireflies will be introducing a mobile platform for guests to order food and beverage from their seats and be notified when it is ready for pick-up at a designated concession stand.
-The Fireflies will also be introducing a mobile platform for guests to order food and beverage from their seats and have it delivered to them (Bullpen Boxes and Scout Seat guests only).
What happens if I have tickets for a game from the 2020 season?
Tickets to un-played games will be treated as if the game was rained out. The ticket can be exchanged in advance for any remaining game during the 2021 season, subject to availability.
Our commitment is to always put our fans first and we will work towards solutions with each of you.
Are you accepting applications to work at the ballpark this season?
Yes. The Fireflies will be hosting a season job fair at Segra Park on March 20th from 1pm – 4pm.
Are the hours of operation still the same for the team store, ticket office and administrative office?
No. The Columbia Fireflies front office, box office and team store remain closed at this time. An official reopening date has not been set. Fans wishing to speak with the ticket office may call 803-726-4487 and selecting option 1, or email [email protected]. All Fireflies apparel is available online only by clicking here.
Is Segra Park still open for the public for walking the concourse?
Segra Park closed to the public on Wednesday, March 18 and will remain closed through at least the end of the 2021 season. Due to enhanced sanitization procedures, it is not prudent to have the ballpark open at this time. An official reopening date has not been set. When this changes, we will notify our community via team social media channels and on our website at www.columbiafireflies.com.
Is there an impact to events already scheduled for later in the year at Segra Park?
Currently, all events scheduled for later in the year are unaffected. Future events will be evaluated based on the situation in place at that time.
