The Columbus Clippers never put any sort of offense together in their 6-0 loss to the Gwinnett Stripers this afternoon.
Despite today's loss, the Clippers took the series 2-1, with wins on Tuesday and Wednesday night.

Gwinnett got on the board in the first inning against Clippers starter Stephen Fife when Danny Santana singled in Peter Bourjos, who led off the ball game with a double. With a 1-0 lead, Rio Ruiz grounded to second to score another, making it 2-0 after one.
Fife settled in after the rough first, working into the seventh without allowing another run until the Stripers loaded the bases and Austin Riley lifted a sacrifice fly to right to score one more.
Jeff Beliveau came on to relieve Fife with one out left in the seventh and runners on second and third, but gave up a three-run homerun to Carlos Franco to give Gwinnett a 6-0 advantage.
Despite strong efforts for much of the game, Fife eventually gave up five runs in his six and two-thirds innings. He allowed eight hits and one walk, while striking out seven.
The Clippers went quietly after that, with the Stripers keeping the Columbus bats at bay to win it 6-0.
The Clippers will host the Charlotte Knights tomorrow at Huntington park for the first of a three-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
