COLUMBUS ‐‐ The Cleveland Indians and the Columbus Clippers today announced a two-year extension of their Player Development Contract through the 2020 season.
Ken Schnacke, Clippers President & GM: "As we begin the 10th season of both Huntington Park and our relationship with the Indians, it is very apparent that this partnership has been a 'grand slam' for all of us. We are so very proud of all we have accomplished together, so very proud that 19 of the 25 Indians on this year's playoff roster came through Columbus, and we look forward to many more seasons of helping to develop the Cleveland Indians of the future."

Chris Antonetti, Indians President, Baseball Operations: "The Indians are extremely excited to again extend our relationship with the Columbus Clippers. The Clippers organization has created a first-class, Major League environment for our players and staff. That, coupled with a state-of-the-art facility in Huntington Park and passionate fan base, make this a unique and lasting relationship. We look forward to the continued success of our partnership."
This is the fourth extension of the team's Player Development Contract, which began in 2009.
It continues a partnership with the Indians that has seen the Clippers send 133 players to Cleveland over the past nine seasons. During this time the Clippers have made the playoffs five times, have won three Governors' Cups, and two Triple-A National Championships. In this same time period, Huntington Park has been named "Ballpark of the Year" seven times.
