The International League announced today that Pawtucket left fielder Bryce Brentz and Columbus left-handed starter Shawn Morimando have been named the League's Batter and Pitcher of the Week for the period from June 12-18. Morimando's honor is the third this season for Columbus, tied for most in the League, as he joins pitcher Mike Clevinger (April 10-16) and outfielder Richie Shaffer (June 5-11). Brentz is the second member of the Red Sox to be so honored in 2017, following pitcher Brian Johnson (May 1-7).

Columbus southpaw Shawn Morimando fired his first-career shutout Thursday night at Huntington Park, limiting the visiting Durham Bulls to five hits and three walks while striking out two over 9.0 stellar innings of work. Only two Durham baserunners got past first base as the Clippers coasted to an 8-0 victory. Morimando has been defeated just once in his last seven starts, with his record now sitting at 5-5. At 3.97, his ERA is at its lowest point since his first start of the season, and he now leads the circuit with 79.1 innings pitched.
24-year-old Shawn Morimando is in his seventh season since Cleveland selected him in the 19th round of the 2011 draft. He made both his Triple-A and Major League debuts in 2016 after having earned honors as an All-Star in the Double-A Eastern League. Morimando is a native of Canandaigua, New York.
