CORPUS CHRISTI - The Hooks snagged a 3-1 win Thursday behind a solid outing behind highly-touted Astros prospect J.B. Bukauskas against the visiting Amarillo Sod Poodles.
Bukauskas tossed 6.0 innings of one-run ball, fanning five while allowing five hits and two walks.

He wiggled out of a first-inning, bases-loaded jam caused by a single, a walk and a fielding error. But he got Kyle Overstreet to fly out to end the threat.
Corpus Christi got on the board in the second on a moonshot homer from Granden Goetzman, his Texas League-leading 13th of the season.

Amarillo tied the score in the fifth on an Edward Olivares RBI single off Bukauskas.
Chas McCormick delivered the go-ahead RBI with a single in the bottom of the seventh against David Bednar (L, 0-5) that scored Ramiro Rodriguez, making his Double-A debut. Javier Bermudez, also playing in his first Double-A game, scored on a wild pitch to add an insurance run.

Layne Henderson (W, 1-1) and Nick Hernandez (S, 1) combined for 3.0 shutout innings to secure the win.
