Wet grounds at Whataburger Field

CORPUS CHRISTI - Due to wet grounds, the Saturday slate of high school baseball action at Whataburger Field has been cancelled.The Calallen Tournament Championship will now be played at Steve Chapman Field in Calallen. The semifinal and final rounds of the Mira's Baseball Classic have been moved to Cabaniss Field.

The freshly-graded infield clay at Whataburger Field is too soft for players to compete safely. A lack of sunshine and the high humidity has prevented the grounds crew from getting the surface ready for play. More clouds are in the forecast for Saturday.
