Casa Hooks Campaign Revealed

CORPUS CHRISTI - It's good to be home.
Whataburger Field, home of Hooks Baseball and its Coastal Bend faithful, will soon open its gates for the 15th season of play at the Port of Corpus Christi.
The Hooks are celebrating the upcoming year by bringing all things Corpus Christi to the forefront; our heritage, architecture, and beautiful beaches. The team's 2019 look-and-feel is inspired by the incredible people who fill Whataburger Field each night.

The bright colors reflect Corpus Christi's gulf waters (navy), bay breeze (blue), South Texas sun (red), and sandy shores (yellow).

"With our It's Good to be Home icon, we tried to deliver the hand-painted sign feel to the digital world," Hooks Director of Marketing JD Davis said. "It reflects the art seen on the sides of local restaurants and businesses. The text is distressed and faded, reminding us that home is great not because it's perfect or new or shiny, but because of the history."
The Casa Hooks stamp is the centerpiece of the campaign.
"It's a mark showing where we come from," Davis said. "Whataburger Field is home for the Hooks and home for the Coastal Bend. Mi casa es su casa."

The fonts, textures, and patterns aim to bond the message with the emotion. These elements come together in a patchwork quilt which mirrors the people, places, and culture of Corpus Christi.
The launch of Casa Hooks comes on the heels of next Tuesday's promotional calendar release. The 2019 slate boasts a bevy of fan-favorite giveaways, as well as community-centric theme nights and weekends.

Opening Day 2019 is Thursday, April 4 at Whataburger Field as the Hooks begin a four-game set against the San Diego Padres' new Double-A affiliate, the Amarillo Sod Poodles.
