MIDLAND - Saturday night's Texas League contest between Corpus Christi and Midland was cancelled due to rain and poor field conditions at Security Bank Ballpark.
With this being the final meeting between the two clubs in the first half, the game will not be made up.
Frisco knocked off San Antonio, 3-1, to force a split of that series at Dr Pepper Ballpark, putting the Hooks a half game back of the Missions with two to play in the TL South first-half race.
Corpus Christi (41-26) and San Antonio (42-26) begin a four-game set tomorrow afternoon at 4:05. The Hooks need to win the first two contests to claim the first-half title.

Friday's series finale in Midland was halted in the top of the fifth due to a heavy rain. Corpus Christi was leading, 9-8, and had the bases loaded with one out. The deluge continued for an hour and a half, rendering the playing surface unplayable.
The rain washed away a fine return to the lineup for left fielder Yordan Alvarez, who belted a pair of two-run home runs. Alvarez had been on the DL since May 7 due to a wrist injury.
Lead-off hitter Josh Rojas plated three runs on the evening, and was a triple shy of the cycle.
Lorenzo Quintana, batting in the nine-hole, hit a two-run dinger in the fourth.
The Hooks, who have won five of their last six games, send lefty Cionel Pérez (5-1, 2.15) to the Wolff Stadium mound Sunday afternoon. San Antonio counters with southpaw Jerry Keel (5-2, 4.91).
