CORPUS CHRISTI - Whataburger Field will be the site of 18 regular-season high school games in 2018, the Corpus Christi Hooks announced Wednesday.

The schedule features five twin bills, including the opener February 19 (Edinburg-Veterans Memorial and Calallen-King). Ray vs. Tuloso-Midway and King vs. Carroll close out the slate with a March 29 doubleheader.

Bishop (No. 6 in 3A), Moody (No. 7 in 5A) and Ray (No. 13 in 5A) are the state-ranked clubs primed to play at Whataburger Field this spring.

"This is always an exciting time of the year," Hooks president Ken Schrom said. "The Coastal Bend is home to the best high school baseball in the state, and we are proud to showcase these schools and their programs. It was a priority to schedule our north bay neighbors who were greatly affected by Hurricane Harvey. We hope it's a special experience for those student-athletes."

General admission seating goes on sale at the Whataburger Field Box Office at 9 a.m. each game date.

In addition to high school action, the Hooks welcome six college teams to the "Ballpark by the Bay" in 2018. The Kleberg Bank College Classic, featuring Mississippi State, UC-Santa Barbara, Nicholls State, and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi runs February 23-25. The Islanders also play host the Texas A&M Aggies (March 27) and Texas Longhorns (April 3). Click Here to learn more about combo packages.

The 14th season of Hooks Baseball gets underway April 5 in Springdale, Ark. Opening Day at Whataburger Field is Thursday, April 12, as Corpus Christi takes on Northwest Arkansas. Click Here to inquire about season memberships.
