CORPUS CHRISTI - A late home run by the San Antonio Missions resulted in a 7-5 loss for the Hooks Thursday at Whataburger Field. The Hooks held a 5-3 lead going to the eighth, but Tommy DeJuneas allowed the first two men to reach. Devin Conn replaced him and allowed

CORPUS CHRISTI - A late home run by the San Antonio Missions resulted in a 7-5 loss for the Hooks Thursday at Whataburger Field.

The Hooks held a 5-3 lead going to the eighth, but Tommy DeJuneas allowed the first two men to reach. Devin Conn replaced him and allowed the go-ahead three-run homer to Eguy Rosario for a 6-5 Missions lead.

Pedro León put the Hooks on the board with a long solo homer (9) in the third against Jordan Humphreys.

Brett Daniels allowed three runs in the fourth, including a Juan Fernandez homer. Daniels completed 5.0 innings with four walks and five strikeouts.

Korey Lee tied the game again in the bottom half of the fourth with his eighth Double-A blast. Scott Schreiber and León gave the Hooks a 5-3 lead later in the frame.

León fell a double short of the cycle in the losing effort.

The series continues Friday at 7:05 p.m. with southpaw Jonathan Bermudez slated for the Hooks.
