CORPUS CHRISTI - Scott Manea and the Hooks got a walk-off win over the league-leading Frisco RoughRiders Tuesday in the series opener at Whataburger Field, 6-5.

Manea stepped up with one out and the bases loaded in the ninth against Hever Bueno and lifted a fly ball off the warning track in center field, easily plating AJ Lee from third for the winning run. It was the Hooks' fifth walk-off win of the season.

Frisco's Josh Jung started the game with a two-run homer off Hooks starter Jonathan Bermudez. But Corpus Christi got the runs back in the second with two-out hits from Scott Schreiber and Grae Kessinger to tie it at two.

After the Hooks took a 3-2 lead, Anderson Tejeda deposited a pair of runs in the sixth against Brett Daniels to make it 4-3 Frisco.

The Hooks rebounded again in the bottom of the sixth using a Marty Costes RBI single. David Hensley then stepped up to slap a line drive into the right field corner for a go-ahead RBI triple.

Daniels cruised until the top of the ninth when he gave up the game-tying single to Jung with two outs.

Hooks pitchers fanned 16, including six from Bermudez and eight for Daniels.

Kessinger finished 3-for-4 with an RBI. Costes was 1-for-2 with a walk and a pair of stolen bases.

Jimmy Endersby is scheduled for the start Wednesday at 6:35 p.m.
